This is a phrase often used in our lives. This was very aptly used by Kaku (Tikka Brijinder S Bedi) recently at Dera Baba Nanak (DBN) and we literally experienced it. We were in DBN on a day visit and had flown into Amritsar in the morning and were to return the same evening back to Delhi. The return flight was at 6:45 pm. It so happened that our work at DBN stretched into late afternoon. We had decided that we will leave DBN latest by 4:30 pm as DBN is 50 Kms from Amritsar and it would take us at least an hour or hour plus to reach Amritsar airport at Raja Sansi, the way being via two towns of Ramdaas and Ajnala. We were not able to leave at the decided time. The tehsildar at DBN was not being cooperative and we got free from that office only at 5:40 pm and Kaku still wanted five minutes to give some instructions to a contractor who we had decided to contract. We were quite convinced that we will miss the flight and may have to stay back the night at Amritsar. Kaku said that with Babe di Meher we will catch the flight. We were hoping that the flight will get delayed and we can make it for that. We started from DBN at 5:45 pm. We were in a civil hired Innova of Army and our driver was superb. He had a VIP siren to ward off the traffic in the congested towns enroute. We were able to get thru to jetairways at Amritsar airport and informed them that we are on the way. They however told us that the flight had arrived and would leave at the scheduled time of 6:45 pm. We pressed on and made it to the airport at 6:38pm, ran to the gate with our boarding passes that we had taken in the morning and we found the Jet airways coach waiting specially for us. We boarded the flight and that also left at the scheduled time of departure and in fact arrived before the scheduled time of arrival at Delhi. This was indeed Babe Di Meher. Never in my life had I arrived at the airport 8 minutes before the flight departure and yet boarded the flight.
