Bedis anywhere in the world can trace their ancestry from the record maintained by the sons of Sansi Chet Ram at Dera Baba Nanak. The Sansi family stays at Ghamiari Mohalla near Amishaian Galli in Dera Baba Nanak. Maintaining the record of Bedis has been the tradition in their family. Sansi Chet Ram followed this from his father Sansi Sadhu Ram and now after the demise of Sh Chet Ram, the work is being continued by his sons Mohan Lal, Piare Lal and Har Chand. Baba Dr Jagjit Singh Bedi (14th Peerhi Qilewale Bedis) had obtained the record from Sansi Chet Ram and he has recorded so in his Pothi now available with the foundation. That Pothi has the lineage of several branches of Bedis residing in different Gallis of Dera Baba Nanak. Recently Tikka Baba Brijinder Singh Bedi and Baba Rupinder Singh Bedi(both 15th Peerhi Qilewale Bedis) met Sansi Mohan Lal and verified their family tree and gathered more information on the Meherchandia line of Bedis. They also updated the Sansi record upto the 17th Peerhi of the Qilewale Bedis. The record maintained by Sansi family is in Pothis and is neatly written in gurmukhi. Worth a visit for every Bedi.
